ROSS CLARKE

For the last twelve years I have been playing solo piano to provide restful background music. The response to this music has been so positive that I decided to make it my specialty and to expand my repertoire to cover a multiplicity of tastes.
I now have around 400 pieces that I can play without the aid of sheet music. These include:

1. Several classical pieces such as "Claire de Lune" and "Nocturne in E flat",
2. Contemporary popular pieces such as "Jessica's Theme from The Man from Snowy River" and "Chariots of Fire",
3. Music from shows such as "Cats", "Les Miserables", "Phantom" etc.,
4. Jazz ballads such as "Misty" etc,
5. Piano adaptations of several popular artists such as Billy Joel, Elton John, Van Morrison, Elvis etc.,
6. Some "new age" music such as George Winston,
7. Well known examples of the music of Spain, France and Italy,
8. Many TV themes,
9. Many nostalgic pieces from the last century.

While many pianists see solo piano as something to do between band jobs and don't really prepare for it, I see it as my major musical activity, and therefore constantly search for suitable material. Many of the pieces I play have originally been requests. Thus there is usually something for everyone.
